The above slide show photos were taken to show that there are issues with signage, access and parking in the Commonwealth Garage. Presently, there is no Van Accessible parking in the garage, and no proper designated signage for access to the "accessible" route to O'Neill Library.
A couple of tickets were issued against someone who had a HP Placard and did not have an "R" sticker. Apparently, BC does not recognize the handicap parking sticker. The handicap (HP) parking spaces in the lower lot are reserved. It appears that these HP parking spaces are then sold to visitors of the public who come to football games.
The pillars in the garage parking lot obstruct the access aisle. This may prevent someone from getting their wheelchair out of their van or car, and also might obstruct someone from lowering their wheelchair accessible chair lift. All access aisles need to be striped.
There is insufficient number of designated parking spaces as is required.
